we are excited to also bring back our monthly meetups, starting with the following 2 talks in July 2025:
Date & Time: Thursday 24 July 2025, 6 pm to 8 pm
Venue: library@harbourfront - Programme Zone 2 (1 HarbourFront Walk, #03-05 (Lobby F), VivoCity, Singapore 098585)
Speaker 1: Tan Wei Yong (https://www.linkedin.com/in/wei-yongtan)
Abstract: Fine-tuning with PyTorch. I'll be sharing on how I was able to use PyTorch to fit my needs with custom architecture, when APIs like HuggingFace are not enough for certain project needs. This talk will also share a little introduction on how to read the literature on ML, and how we can implement them.
Bio: NUS Second year Computer Engineering student, with interests in ML research
Speaker 2: Anand S (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sanand0)
Abstract: Agents are commonly defined as "LLMs running tools in a loop". One very powerful tool is the ability to execute Python code. What could we unleash if LLMs run Python code in a loop? This talk explores diverse scenarios from self-healing code to hypothesis forges to cyber canaries as part of a live-coding session.
Bio: Anand is an LLM psychologist at Straive. (It's not an official title. He just calls himself that.) Earlier, he co-founded Gramener, a visual data story company. He is considered one of India's top 10 data scientists and is a regular TEDx/PyCon speaker.
